Gary Lane Courtney, 77, of Raymond, died on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at 3:33 p.m. at his daughter’s home in Litchfield.
Private funeral services will be held with the Rev. Ian Carrico officiating. Burial will take place in Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, KY. Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family locally, while Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Arlington, KY, is assisting the family with arrangements there.
Mr. Courtney was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Paducah, KY, to Avery and Irene (Barclay) Courtney. He married Karen Kaminski, and she survives.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, and went to to work as a truck driver for Smith Distributors in Raymond.
Mr. Courtney was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four daughters, Jessica Cloe of Bethalto, Kari (husband Kyle) Brown of Lake County, Heather (husband Robert) McGill of Litchfield and Haley Hatfield of Hillsboro; son, Ben (Jamie Gunning) Jackson of Palmyra; sister, Beverly (Pat) Haygood of Union City, TN; brother, Larry (Julia) Courtney of Arlington, KY; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Courtney was preceded in death by his parents.
