Clifford Eugene “Gene” Gualandi, 86, of Munster, IN died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Friday, Oct. 20, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the Fife Funeral Home, located at 4201 Indianapolis, Blvd., East Chicago, IN. Memorial services will be held Friday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN. (Note: due to construction on Indianapolis Blvd., please use Railroad, Tod, or Olcott avenues to 142nd Street).
Mr. Gualandi was born June 16, 1937, in Hillsboro, to Joe and Reva (Simmons) Gualandi. He retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company after 30 years of service. He was a 50-plus years Scottish Rite, 32 degree member of the Indiana Harbor Masonic Lodge #686 and a member of the Orak Shrine. He earned an associate’s degree from Purdue Calumet in Hammond, IN. He enjoyed fishing and never missed a Monday meeting with Wally and Stasny. He frequently visited Hillsboro.
He is survived by his four daughters, Regina (Joseph) Kirincic, Tina (Darrell) Paymaster, Laura (late Allen) Greathouse and Juanita Gualandi; four grandchildren, Christopher Kirincic, Amanda (Jeremy) Steffey, Nicole Kirincic and Kavan Gualandi; two great-grandchildren, Lilah Christine Kirincic and Roman Joseph Herrera; two sisters, Rose (late Larry) Monak and Marisa (David) Jillson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth C. “Betty” Gualandi; son, Ernest Eugene Gualandi and two brothers, Dale and Larry (late Joan) Gualandi.
