George Lee Schenkel, 66, of Decatur, died at 5:37 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at Prairie Creek Village Nursing Home.
A private burial will take place at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Boardman-Smith Funeral Home in Springfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Schenkel was born on Feb. 2, 1954, in Hillsboro, the son of George L. and Della Mae (Baker) Strong.
Mr. Schenkel is survived by his sister, Ronda Strong Freisland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, George William Schenkel.
