George Raymond Allen III, 30, of Alton, died on Saturday, April 8, 2023, in Alton.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Ryan Follis officiating. Burial will be held at Nokomis Cemetery with full military rites conducted.
Mr. Allen was born Feb. 10, 1993, in Taylorville, to George Raymond and Yvette (Hays) Allen II.
He graduated from high school and completed two years of college. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2011 to 2015. He also served as a volunteer fireman with Rivers Pointe Fire Department in West Alton.
Mr. Allen met Suzi Johnes over 11 years ago and they are the proud parents of Leah Allen, both whom were the loves of his life. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games, working on cars and most of all, playing with his daughter.
He is survived by his significant other, Suzi Johnes of Alton; daughter, Leah Allen of Alton; mother; and siblings, Megan Hays of Latham, Matthew Emerson of Witt and Mitchell Emerson of Ohlman.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 23, 2019.
