Harold Dwaine Moomey, 88, of Moberly, MO, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 25, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Dr. Tim Murrell officiating. Burial with military honors was held in Owaneco Cemetery.

Mr. Moomey was born Sept. 17, 1932, in Millersville, the son of Harold Owen and Olga (Waters) Moomey. He married Virginia Faye Drain on Feb. 4, 1955, in Tahlequah, OK, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2016.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War. He was a longtime farmer in Owaneco and in Moberly, MO, and was a driver for PSI Trucking in Huntsville, MO, for several years. He enjoyed reading, fishing, yardwork and woodworking projects.

He is survived by his daughters, Terry (Tim) Murrell of University City, MO, and Tamara Moomey of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Elissa Murrell, Alison Murrell, Jacob Banning and Jared Banning; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Murrell-Thomas, Sarah Murrell, Emma Banning, Cameron Banning and McKenzie Banning; sister, Janet Engeling of Morrisonville; and brother, Ronald Moomey of Owaneco.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Moomey and Virgil Moomey.
