Harold F. Sorrell, 96

Harold Franklin Sorrell of Hillsboro, 96, died on Thursday, May 17, at 5:42 a.m. at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ralph Ward officiating. Cremation rites will follow.

Mr. Sorrell was born on April 16, 1922, to the late Samuel and Margaret (Stevens) Sorrell in New Lexington, OH. He married Marvis Schmidt on Sept. 11, 1947 in Brighton, CO, and she survives in Hillsboro.

A high school graduate, Mr. Sorrell is a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. He worked as an apprentice mold maker at Anchor Hocking Glass Factory in Ohio for four years, and then became a mold maker at Hillsboro Glass Factory until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Sorrell is survived by two children, Marvis Yvonne Sorrell of Los Angeles, CA, and Larry Wayne Sorrell of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother-in-law, Ray Schmidt; two nieces, Donna Lewis and Alice Lee Giles; three nephews, Ronnie Wagner, Jack Schmidt and Dick Lauderbaugh and extended family members including Pat Delahunt, Joy Crawford, Diane Lowder, Desiree Crawford and Pat Lentz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
