Hazel L. Blaskovich, 93, of Staunton, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. in Spangle Cemetery near Livingston with the Rev. Bob Beloit officiating. Williamson Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mrs. Blaskovich was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Walshville Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Cora (Edwards) Arndt. She married John “Tye” Blaskovich on Aug. 4, 1950, and he preceded her in death.

After graduation from Junior College in Greenville, she taught school and Pleasant Hill and Lamb schools, which were one-room schoolhouses. After moving to Staunton in 1957, she worked from home for many years as a seamstress. She later worked at First National Bank in Staunton and then at Cassens Transport in Hamel. She was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church of Bunker Hill and the Staunton VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Tyrone (Ruth) Blaskovich of Butler; two granddaughters, Beth Johnston and Bridget Stuver; four great-grandchildren, Jon and Ashley Genovese and Chase and Skylar Stuver; one great-great-granddaughter, Autumn Genovese; seven nieces, Lorraine Jackson, Lavern Slightom, Jean Fox, Dottie Heeren, Barb Schreiber, Sue Ann Cunningham and Jolene Henehan; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
