The Hearn Motorsports team was in Byron on Aug. 9-11, as ten-year-old Timothy Hearn competed in the Midwest Junior Super Series event at the Byron Dragway.
Going into the race, Hearn was third in the 10-to-12-year-old division with 50 points, while sitting in 15th overall in the 8.90 index class. This is his first year in the older, faster classes.
On Saturday, Hearn would take a loss in his first race in the 8.90 index class after missing the tree, but the young racer would rally back the next day. Hearn picked up a win in the age group race on Sunday, before bowing out in the second round.
The series has three more stops before the end of the season. On Aug. 23-25, there will be a race at US131 in Martin, MI, followed by a "home" race for the Hearns on Sept. 20-22 at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison. The season wraps up on Oct. 4-6 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, IN, with the MJSS Championship Celebration.
