Helen I. Greenwalt, 72, of Carlinville, died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Burial followed at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.
Mrs. Greenwalt was born on Dec. 4, 1944, in Carlinville, to Anna Marie Beard.
During her career, she worked for the State of Illinois, Central Illinois Steel Company and Production Credit Company as a secretary. While at Prairie Farms Dairy, she served as a payroll clerk. In 2005, she retired from American Family Insurance Company, where she worked in the claims department.
Mrs. Greenwalt enjoyed all kinds of crafts, baking wedding cakes and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Anna Marie Ruyle of Shipman; a son, Michael (Stacey) Greenwalt of Shipman; a daughter, Michelle Greenwalt of Carlinville; grandchildren, Loran Greenwalt, Dalton Greenwalt and Logan Day; brothers, Russell "Butch" (Linda) Ruyle of Carlinville, Cecil (Maxine) Ruyle of Carlinville, Curt (Bev) Ruyle of Farmersville and Don (Sandy) Ruyle of Gillespie; sisters, Sally (David) Baum of Gillespie, Lisa Haley of Carlinville and Theresa (Carl) Madden of House Springs, MO.
Mrs. Greenwalt was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Robb and a brother, James Beard.
