Henry P. “Jake” Wolf, 81, of Taylorville, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at 11:04 a.m. in his home. 

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Wolf was born Feb. 16, 1939, in Pana, the son of Henry and Bonnie (Atkins) Wolf.

A graduate of Pana High School, he was an accomplished athlete. He was proud member of Pana’s only undefeated football team in 1955. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post 4495. He retired from the Christian County Highway Department.  He was a talented gardener, loved cooking and could always find the biggest mushrooms in his secret hunting spots. He loved his faithful canine companions, Max and Annie.

He is survived by his sons, Henry Eric (Alissa) Wolf of Taylorville and James David (Rachelle) Wolf of Raymond; grandchildren, Brianna Wolf, Sydney Wolf, Kenneth James Wolf, Kyley Wolf, John Wolf and Bryce Wolf; life partner, Patricia Ann Hartsfield Martin; and sister, Marian Klein.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Wolf and James “Jimmy” Wolf.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, the Raymond Boy Scout Troop 77,  or the Taylorville VFW Post 4495.
