Herman Wagehoft, 70

Herman Oscar Wagehoft, 70, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Morrisonville and Peoria, died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, following complications with the COVID-19 virus.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, FL.

Mr. Wagehoft was born on Nov. 14, 1950, in Taylorville, to Kenneth H. and Charlotte (Himstedt) Wagehoft, and raised on a farm in rural Pawnee near Zenobia.

He attended Morrisonville High School and after graduation he served his country in the US Army.  While living in Peoria he was employed for many years and retired from the Caterpillar Company.

Mr. Wagehoft became a resident of Sebring, FL, two years ago and attended Highlands Community Church there. He enjoyed life, riding motorcycles, listening to music, playing his guitar, singing and spending quality time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Shad (Michelle) Wagehoft and Sean Robinson, both of Illinois; brothers, Raymond (Myra) Wagehoft of Coralville, IA; Harland (Debbie) Wagehoft of Manhattan; sisters, Irene (Allen) Johnson of Hollister, MO, Della (Jim) Niemann of Litchfield, Rhonda (Bill) Matthews of Blair, NE; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, May Ilene Wagehoft.
