She was a graduate assistant for the SBDC from August 2005 to September 2007 and served as an international business consultant for the SBCD's International Trade Center (ITC). DiMaggio-May began her role as director of the SBCD in August 2017.

Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce and the City if Hillsboro have teamed up to offer a series of educational seminars with the assistance of the SBDC. This will be the first open business forum that the chamber and the city of Hillsboro have collaborated on. The intended outcome of Tuesday's forum is to help organizers identify at least three areas of interest that the 2020 seminar series will be built around.

"The City of Hillsboro recognizes the value that having a strong chamber of commerce has on the economy and the morale of a community. When the opportunity to assist the chamber, in what is a mutual-vision, came along the city was happy to collaborate," said Interim Community Planner Jonathan Weyer. "We feel this is a step forward in building the business community in Hillsboro."

The upcoming series has been a long-time goal of Hillsboro's chamber, whose board has been actively working to expand educational and networking opportunities within the community for the last several years.

"We believe in strong partnerships and business relationships and are excited to be collaborating with the Illinois Small Business Development Center," said Kaitlyn Fath, Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce's Executive Director.
