Members of both the Hillsboro and Litchfield schools board will meet together in a special meeting on Tuesday evening, Oct. 29, beginning at 7 p.m. at the unit office in Hillsboro.
The purpose of the joint meeting is to discuss potential school district consolidation issues brought about from the reorganization study by the Montgomery County School Study Commission.
Started last year, the study focused on the reorganization of the Hillsboro, Litchfield and Panhandle school districts. A report was presented to the community in August at Lincoln Land Community College.
Following roll call of the Hillsboro and Litchfield boards, they will open the floor to public input, followed by discussion among board members.
The meeting will be open to the public. The Hillsboro School District unit office is located at 1311 Vandalia Road in Hillsboro.
