Hollie Elaine Greenwalt, 73, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 5:06 a.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Revs. John and Judy Vidakovich and the Rev. Jim Tinzman of St. Timothy United Methodist Church will officiate. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is serving the family.
Mrs. Greenwalt was born on Sept. 18, 1952, in Terre Haute, IN, to Harrell Marvin and Mary Pauline (Lewis) Howard. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Throughout her career, she worked as a production scheduling manager for several companies, including Martha White, Pillsbury and Spectrum Brands.
On Dec. 20, 1975, she married Steven Dale Greenwalt, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2012.
Mrs. Greenwalt was an active member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield. She will be remembered for her dedicated volunteer service with the Litchfield Route 66 Museum and local food kitchens. Her kindness, generosity and commitment to serving others touched many lives.
She is survived by her father, Harrel Howard (wife, Mary Ann) of Hillsboro; son, Lance (Suzanne) Greenwalt of Nashville, TN; daughter, Lyndsay (Adam) Gradyan of O’Fallon; brother, Kirk (Sherri) Howard of Litchfield; sister, Marjorie (Tim) Brown of Champaign; and grandchildren, Jackson Greenwalt, Tyler Greenwalt, Lucas Greenwalt, Isabelle Greenwalt, Christopher Greenwalt, Ian Gradyan, Silas Gradyan and McKinley Gradyan.
In addition to her husband, Steven, she was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Pauline Howard; and beloved granddaughter, Samantha Greenwalt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
