Holly Angel Alender-Mix, 42, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at 7:25 p.m., in her home.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Beacon Church in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Jon Magnuson officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Alender-Mix was born on Dec. 25, 1983, in Litchfield, a daughter of Michael Raymond and Debra Ann (Miller) Alender. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama and a master's degree from Kaplan University. She dedicated her career to social services, serving the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in multiple roles, including supervisor of investigations, social services probation officer and substance abuse counselor. She married Colt DeWitt Mix on Nov. 3, 2018, at Beacon Church in Litchfield. She was an active member of Beacon Church and had a passion for reading, singing and traveling, especially her trip to Belize.
In addition to her husband, Colt, she is survived by her son, Tristan Staggs of Litchfield; daughters, Alexis Alender-Mix of Hillsboro, Dakota Mix of Hillsboro and Rylie Mix of Litchfield; mother, Debra Miller of Alton; father, Michael Alender of Lovington; mother-in-law, Vera Mix of Gillespie; sisters, Angie (Matty) Crays of Carlinville, Maggie (John) Fullington of Litchfield and Shauna (Cory) Berry of Carlyle; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Alender.
