A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, May 25, at Mosaic Church in Highland. Pastor Matt Embry officiated. Interment was at Highland Cemetery. Meridith Funeral Home in Highland assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Miles was born on March 1, 1974, in Highland, to Oscar and Mary Sue (nee Warning) Hug. She married her high school sweetheart, Kevin Miles, on Sept. 25, 1999, in Highland. As a child, Mrs. Miles was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts. She attended Grantfork Elementary with her lifelong bestie, Jody; a time she cherished. Mrs. Miles grew up camping, boating and skiing with her family and their friends’ camping group S.C.C.A. Throughout her life, she loved spending time with her family at the Hug Family clubhouse. In high school she was very active in volleyball, cheerleading, choir, spring musicals and competitive dance. She continued dance at the college level with a scholarship from her local dance studio.

Mrs. Miles volunteered for many years at Camp HIS KIDS, as well as Christmas parties, family bus trips to Branson, hospital clinic visits and other events serving children and families affected by childhood cancer.  She worked at Popeye’s Restaurant in high school, college and beyond; a job she dearly loved.  Mrs. Miles graduated from SIUE in 1997, then worked for B-Line (Eaton) in Highland for 24 years in customer service and inside sales.

Mrs. Miles attended Mosaic Church in Highland, serving in the Sunday school room with her husband and kids, as well as vacation bible school. She was strong in her faith and clung to it always. Mrs. Miles made many friendships during her life and was loved by all. She had an infectious smile, wonderful laugh and would hit you with her quick-witted sense of humor in a moment’s notice. Above all, Mrs. Miles loved her family. Her husband was the love of her life and best friend, and they shared everything together. Her number one pride and joy were her children. She cherished family trips with them and made every outing memorable. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she poured her heart into the holiday for her family. Mrs. Miles was an amazing football, hockey and cheer mom. She was deeply loved and a treasure to her family.
