Irene “Kim” “The Neeners” F. Wood, 77, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, at her residence.

Private family funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 14. Burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wood was born Sept. 12, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA.  She married Robert Wood on March 21, 1962, and he survives.

She graduated from Canoga Park High School in Canoga Park, CA. She attended Pierce Jr. College and California State University in Northridge, CA. She was a veteran of the U.S. Women’s Army Corp, where she was a medical surgical dental assistant. She worked at various hospitals, and enjoyed volunteer work, including Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls and the POW Association.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Tim) Garman of Hillsboro and Nancy (Greg) Froelich of Garden Grove, CA; five grandchildren, Carissa (Phil) Zamora of Glen Carbon, Emilie (Devin) Moroney of St. Louis, MO, Taylor (MJ) Schifano of Garden Grove, CA, Nicholas (Jordan) Garman of Oklahoma City, OK, and Sean (Brenna) Froelich of Garden Grove, CA; and eight great-grandchildren, Patrick, Sophie and Zachary Zamora, Andre and Gibson Moroney and Piper, Cooper and Hunter Garman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Kimble and stepmother, Mildred Kimble.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Paws Care.
