It's Party In The Park Weekend In Litchfield

Litchfield's Party in the Park–the new September version–kicks off this weekend on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22, downtown surrounding scenic Library Park.

Carnival rides will open at 5 p.m. with $20 wristbands available.  The beer wagon also opens at 5 p.m.  Bingo will run from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Moose Lodge.

Century 21 Reid-Baugher Realty will host a spelling bee beginning at 6 p.m.

A show band that promises to "take you back in time by uniquely performing hit songs from an era that hasn't really past yet," Captain Geech and The Shrimp Shack Shooters, sponsored by Allscripts, will entertain from the big stage from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The fun gets off to an early start on Saturday, beginning with the three-on-three basketball tournament and the 2018 Bad Prom 5K Run/Walk both starting at 8 a.m.  Registration for the run/walk is from 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. at the Moose Lodge.

Bingo will run all day and into the evening, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Moose Lodge.

Booths, food trailers, and Taste of Litchfield begin at 12 noon, and the carnival opens at 1 p.m. with $20 wristbands good for all the ride thrills until 4 p.m.

Visit the celebrity dunk tank to splash someone you know from 1 to 8 p.m.

Performers from Younique Dance Studio will entertain from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m., followed by a performance by the Midwest Royal All-Stars.

Pageant time begins at 5 p.m. on the big stage, with the crowning of a new Little Miss and Little Mr. Chamber of Commerce, a Junior Miss Chamber of Commerce, and the new Miss Litchfield Chamber of Commerce.
