James A. McKenzie, 89, of Shipman, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center in Gillespie at 9:38 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023.
No services are scheduled. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. McKenzie was born July 2, 1934, in Hillsboro, to George McKenzie and Pearl Boyd McKenzie. He married Yvonne Jeanette (Gray) McKenzie, and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2011. He was a lifelong minister.
He is survived by his sons, Lewis McKenzie of Shipman and James McKenzie of Point Pleasant, WV; grandchildren, Crystal Peper, Sam Boyd, Robert Jett, Candy Jett Roetto, Deanette Jett, Lewis Gray McKenzie, Christina L. McKenzie, Jennifer McKenzie, James McKenzie and Joseph McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Alyshia Peper, Matthew Peper and Bella Boyd; and sibling, Erma McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; daughters, Anita Jans and Juanita Boyd; and brothers, George McKenzie and John McKenzie.
