James A. Revisky, 80, of Panama, died on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at 7:40 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Panama. A memorial ceremony will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Revisky officiating. Inurnment will be held in Union Cemetery at a later date. Donations of food may be brought to the Panama VFW Post 6628 Saturday morning.

Mr. Revisky was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Panama, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Veres) Revisky. He married Sandra H. Spencer on Feb. 18, 1962, in Litchfield, and she survives.

During his career, he worked for Cassen's Trucking as a local driver for over 23 years. He was a member of Litchfield Christian Church and the Teamsters Local 604.

Mr. Revisky was the 167th person to receive a heart transplant in 1990, and was one of the longest surviving heart transplant recipients in the country.

He enjoyed traveling, growing flowers, feeding birds and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Revisky is survived by his son, Jimmy Lee (wife Sabrina) Revisky of Greenville; grandson, Ryder Allen Revisky of Greenville; sister, Margaret "Sis" Reed of Sorento; niece and nephew, Cathy Reed and A.J. Reed; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rose LaBrie; and two brothers, Joseph and Jack Lee Revisky.
