James F. “Jeff” Biggs, 73, of Chatham, formerly of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, at his residence.
Cremation rites were accorded. The family will host a gathering at a later date. Bisch and Sons Funeral Home in Springfield is assisting the family.
Mr. Biggs was born May 12, 1947, in Lincoln, to George Biggs and LaVerne Housworth. He married Linda McCord on Dec. 26, 2015, in St. Louis, MO, and she survives.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served as an army nurse in Vietnam. He worked as a nurse anesthetist for 46 years in Hillsboro, Fairfield, Fort Madison, IA, Quincy and Springfield. He enjoyed golf and snow skiing. He was a member of the Chatham VFW and Chatham American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Jeff Biggs of Fairfield, and Jason Biggs and Jennifer Biggs, both of Albion; and two sisters, Jill Shoemaker and Linda Frankson, both of Charlotte, NC.
