James 'Jim' A. Hartman, 65

James “Jim” A. Hartman, 65, of Irving, died on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, at 7:02 a.m. at Heritage Health: Therapy and Senior Care in Pana.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 23, beginning at 11 a.m. at Irving Cemetery with the Rev. William Cox, pastor of Christian Church in Witt, officiating. Guidelines set forth by the CDC will be followed, including masks and social distancing. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.

Mr. Hartman was born Nov. 29, 1954, in Hillsboro, to Thomas Columbus and Clara (Reck) Hartman. He married Tammi Hefley, and they later divorced. He then married Ann Logue, and they later divorced.

He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1973, and went on to work on the railroad for NY Central, later retiring from CXS.

A member of the Railroad Union, Mr. Hartman resided in the Irving and Vandalia areas during his lifetime.

He is survived by his children, Travis Hartman, Gina Hartman and Jamie Hartman; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, William (wife Carol) Hartman, Dennis (wife Carolyn) Hartman, Rodney (wife Mary Lou) Hartman and Cindy (husband Fred) Shipley.

Mr. Hartman was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Bayleigh Hartman; and brothers, Thomas Hartman in infancy and Larry Hartman.

Memorials may be directed to the Christian Church in Witt.
