James S. Young, 91, of Troy, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at his home in Troy.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Nov. 30, at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon with Pastor Charles West officiating. Burial followed with full military rites at Friedens Cemetery in Troy.

Mr. Young was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Harold D. and Ruth E. (Green) Young. He married Henrietta (Rensman) Young, and she preceded him in death.

A truck driver for Bunn Capitol for over 30 years, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. In his free time, he loved to collect clocks and had countless clocks in his home. Most of all, he loved his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.

He is survived by his children, Deborah (Jeff) Myers, Tina (Gary) Halbert, Jamie (Brad) Stanek and Dan (Sandra) Young, all of Troy, Nancy Young and James R. Young, both of Williamsville, Mike Young (Vickie Ray)  of Riverton, Barb Green of Troy, Bill McClain (Jennifer Smith) of Lebanon, TN, and Linda (Keith) Steele of Pocahontas; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five brothers, Russell of Litchfield, Harold of Walnut Creek, CA, Robert of Citrus Springs, FL, Gerald of Hillsboro and David of Coffeen; four sisters, Betty Roper of Decatur, Alice Kern of Hillsboro, Judie Volk of Spring Lake, MI and Beverly Smith of Nokomis; and a special friend, Darlene Loyet.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Burnetta "Nippy" Mohl and Rosaleen Moseley.
