Janet (Wilson) Christer, 67, of Morrisonville, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at 7:47 p.m. at her residence.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the very Rev. Albert Allen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Raymond Cemetery in Raymond.

Ms. Christer was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Robert L. "Rabbit" and Mary Aileen (Denning) Wilson. She married Michael J. Hough on Nov. 7, 2008, in Missouri, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2017.

She was a 1970 graduate of Morrisonville High School, where she was very active in 4-H.  She went on to work for the State of Illinois in the office of the EPA for over 30 years.

Following her retirement, she worked as a part-time courier for the post office. She was an entrepreneur at heart, owning many businesses in the Taylorville and Morrisonville areas, including Taylorville Liquor, City Limits, The Curve, Dooley's Corner Tavern, B and B Cab Company, and was a past owner of Morrisonville Lumber.

She had a passion for floral design and knitting, making many arrangements for her friends and family. She was an avid bowler and pool player. She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.

She is survived by her children, Aaron Davis of Morrisonville, Jennifer Davis  of Taylorville and Jessica Dooley of Taylorville; grandchildren, Bradley Davis of Chicago, Jacob and Chaz Davis of Taylorville, Calynn Workman of Taylorville, Luke Davis of Litchfield and Wilson Johnson of Taylorville; sister, Mary Bockewitz of Wildwood, MO; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
