Janet Nadine (Howard) Beard, 83, of Coffeen, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, at 10:13 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs.
Private Family services will be held. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in rural Coffeen. Mark Noyes will officiate. Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Beard was born May 31, 1940 in Coffeen, to the late Berthol “Buck” Howard and Iva M. (Snider) Howard. She is a 1958 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She married Kenneth Brown. They later divorced, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Beard went on to marry Howard Beard in 1980 in Fayette County, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2012.
Mrs. Beard worked as a waitress at many restaurants in the area and worked at Eagle Pitcher, which was a zinc manufacturer. She held memberships at Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors, Coffeen Senior Citizens and the Coffeen chapter of the Red Hat Society. She lived in Coffeen area her entire life.
Mrs. Beard is survived by her children, Debra (Gary) May of Hillsboro, Karen (Jeff) Woods of Williamsville and Lee Brown of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Dylan Woods, Skylar Marek, Lillie Brown, Whitney Drobnack and Sarah Sexton; great-grandchildren, Maverick Meeks, Ryder Meeks, Lola Marek and Jacob Meeks; and brothers, James C. Howard of Coffeen and Gerald L. Howard of Coffeen.
She is preceded by her parents and both husbands.
