Janice Kay Foster, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after the funeral at Nokomis Masonic Lodge.

Mrs. Foster was born in Brookville, the daughter of Lana Marguerite (Stauffer) and Monte Glover. She married Robert E. Foster, and he preceded her in death.

Everyone who knew her, described her as caring and kind, adventurous and fun, and always devoted to her family. She was generous with her time, volunteering at church and at national parks for several years, numerous civic and social organizations, including Nokomis Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and was previously a member of the Nokomis Public Library Board. She was also involved in many mission trips.

Always an avid walker, she literally walked across the world in her many travels in association with the Volkswalk Organization. She will be missed.

She and her late husband owned and operated Western Auto Store in Nokomis for eight years. She then worked for the Travel Agency in Taylorville, and lastly as the administrative office manager for Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Homes.

She is survived by children, Deborah (Bill) Naucke, Jeffrey (Judy) Foster, Christine (Gregory) Craine, Robert "Bud" (Jessie) Foster and Lana (Daniel) Hanson; 13 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Glover of Belvidere; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband of 48 years, she was preceded in death by brothers, Monte and Robert Glover, and sister, Nadine Arnould.

Memorials may be made to the Nokomis Public Library and the local food pantry.
