Janice Kay Woodruff, 77, of Gillespie, died at 3:35 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Trinity Baptist Church in Gillespie, with Pastor Richard Hill officiating. Burial was at Gillespie Cemetery in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Woodruff was born on Sept. 29, 1942, in Gillespie, to John and Elizabeth (Peters) Ward. She married William "Woody" Woodruff on March 18, 2002, in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Woodruff was a retail floor manager for drug stores. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Gillespie.
Mrs. Woodruff is survived by her husband; children, Daniel R. Welch of Carlinville, Darren D. (Cindy) Welch of Gillespie, Gina G. Corbin of Gillespie, Donna K Welch of Staunton; step-children, Jeffrey Broderick of California and Beth Ann (Larry) Johnson of Eldridge, IA; grandchildren, Misty Fritz, Dustin (Christine) Welch, Courtney (Isaiah) Law, Summer Johnson, Devynn Johnson and Piper Johnson; great-grandchildren, Lettie D. Law, Dierks J. Law and Oliver W. Welch; a brother, William (Pat) Ward of Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Ellen Davidson; father-in-law, William Davidson; brothers, Jack Ward and Dick Ward; and sisters, Betty McCulley, Mildred Heck and Marilyn Enlow.
