Jeanette Bessett, 80, of Williston, VT, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Whitney Hill Homestead in Williston, VT. Burial was private. Ready Funeral Home South Chapel in Burlington, VT, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Bessett was born on Dec. 3, 1939, in St. Louis, MO, to Henry and Nina (Axley) Wilson. She married Charles Bessett on Oct. 30, 1965.

Among the many places she worked, she is most known for Skateland and Twincraft. Her family remembers her as having many joys and that she loved being a part of Williston Senior Organization, visiting to her family home in Illinois and traveling to Hawaii.

Mrs. Bessett also enjoyed going to Papa Nicks Restaurant with her husband and grandchildren. She loved cooking large holiday meals and adored spending time with her grandchildren. Though Mrs. Bessett did not live in Illinois for many decades, she was always reminded of her home when passing a cornfield, antiquing or cooking her families recipes.
