Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ S. Wood, 58, of Princeton, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks will be required.

Mr. Wood was born Dec. 19, 1961, in Princeton, the son of Elmer H. and Ruth E. (Vaughn) Wood. He married Deb Wilson Miller on June 15, 1996, in Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler, and she survives.

A 1980 graduate of Wyanet High School, he worked as an auto mechanic for Joe’s Midtown Auto Repair in Princeton for 41 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed working on his boat and woodworking.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Janelle (Mike) Smith of Sheffield; one grandson, Mijael Smith of Sheffield;  one brother, Pat (Laurie) Wood of Princeton; two nieces, Katie (Tyler) Perry and Kelsey (Matt) Eklin; one great-nephew, Theo Perry; one uncle, Lisle Vaughn of Dallas, TX; four aunts, Alverna Vaughn of Surprise, AZ, Loretta Vaughn of Dixon, Elinor Vaughn of Peru and Marilyn Jean Barker of Danville; and his dog, Sadie.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

Memorials may be made to the Wyanet Rescue Unit and the American Diabetes Association.
