Jerry D. Huffman, 76, of Litchfield, died Monday, March 11, 2019, at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, with a meal to follow. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Huffman was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Noblesville, IN, to Lennie O. and Helen M. Huffman. He married Jeanie Pollard on June 20, 1964, in Indianapolis, IN, and she survives.

A graduate of Noblesville High School, he was a member of the Litchfield Moose Club and Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

Mr. Huffman worked construction in the Litchfield area and was a retired correctional officer from Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro.

He loved camping, especially at Vandalia Lake, fishing from dawn to dusk–even catching an 8.5 lb. bass that he had mounted, and playing cards at the Moose Lodge with friends.

His family was very dear to him, and he loved each and every one of them. He was always there with a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including playing games and cards with all the children in the family, especially Kevin, Jayden and Jordan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robin Huffman and Jerry Huffman, both of Litchfield; "grandchildren," Cari, Heather, Kevin, Gracie, Jayden and Jordan; in-laws, Rose Pollard, Mary Ann Pollard, Norman, Ben and Kelly, and Roger and Diane; nieces and nephews, including two nephews, C.J. Pollard and Wayne Pollard,who he helped raise, along with other family in Decatur, Lapel, IN, and Martinsville, IN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Wilber, Neil, Robert, Richard and Ronnie Huffman, and sisters, May Burns, Mildred Martin and Joann Brandenburg.
