Jessi Della Garrett, 41, of Deming, NM, formerly of Hillsboro, died on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023.

A celebration of life will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at T-Teez Bar in Irving. Bring memories to share, and T-shirts are available at Mavis Mae Screen Printing in Witt on Facebook or may be ordered the day of the celebration.

Ms. Garrett was born on May 11, 1982 to Donald and Theresa Garrett in Litchfield.  Ms. Garrett was very close with her parents and siblings and valued a strong family connection.  In her youth you could find her at her dad Don’s hip, helping him with the horses and learning everything he had to offer.  Ms. Garrett was a true cowgirl, the perfect mixture of tough and sweet.  She would never go unnoticed in any room, from her infections laugh and loud remarks to her warm smile and compassion.

She was a true and close friend to many, but to almost everyone, she gave sound advice and motivation that would make someone hold their head a little higher.  She enjoyed a good laugh and a good time, and she was always the life of the party.  Ms. Garrett touched not only the lives of those who were fortunate to get to know her personally, but also to the lives of those she encountered through her years as a nurse.  For close to a decade she provided the best care for her patients in home health and, her favorite, the emergency room, where she could almost always be found at their side getting to know them and providing unlimited laughs and a kind of comfort that only she could provide.  She was never afraid to speak her mind, and never hesitated to express herself and her love for those around her.

Ms. Garrett took pride in being a mother, both to her biological daughters and all those whom she took under her wing.

She is survived by her mother Theresa; daughters Kiley (Patrick) Martinez, Paci Nevarez and Grady Nevarez; siblings, sisters Dawn Renee Garrett and Codi (Terry) Durbin and brother Jordan Garrett; grandmothers Leola Garrett and Hazel Petcher; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She is preceded in death by her father, Don Garrett; and grandfathers Pier Garrett and John Petcher.
