Joanne Gehlbach, 83, of Nokomis, died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at her home.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, Sept. 18, beginning at 1 p.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Nokomis. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.
Mrs. Gehlbach was born July 20, 1937, in Pana, to Joseph and Eva (Johnson) Vandenbergh. She married Elmer Gehlbach on Feb. 27, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2012.
She served as a telephone operator and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis.
Mrs. Gehlbach is survived by her sons, Rex (Tammy) Gehlbach of Troy and Max (Ricki) Gehlbach of Raymond; daughter, Sandy (Tom) Johnson of Springfield; grandchildren, Shane (Andrea), Daniel, Joseph, Anthony, Mark, Erika and Micah; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Lee (Marie) Vandenbergh of Nokomis, Marie (Paul) Sarsany of Witt, Linda (Rob) Graham of Dallas, TX, and Mike (Cindy) Vandenbergh of Nokomis.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Chase.
