John M. Eddings, 67, of Springfield, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at 12:44 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Cremation rites were provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society in Springfield.
Mr. Eddings was born Aug. 14, 1953, in Springfield, the son of Harold E. and Helen J. (Cline) Eddings. He married Barbara Ann Wallace on June 30, 1990, in Carlinville, and she survives.
A graduate of Southeast High School, he received an associate’s degree from Illinois State University. He worked for Buraski Builders for over 25 years until the time of his retirement in 2014. He was an avid music lover, as well as a wonderful artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. He was a caring, hardworking man with a good sense of humor and a big heart.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his son, Kyle (Cathy) Stoneking of Springfield; daughter, Jackie (Daren) Cooper of Springfield; granddaughters, Bethany Johnson of Farmersville and Randi Freshour of Springfield; sister, Melanie (Joe) Tunno of Payson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
