John Paul Adams, 72, of Foristell, MO, died on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 11:37 p.m. at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 23, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Lake St. Louis, 2230 Lake St. Louis Blvd., Lake St. Louis, MO. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, Aug. 23, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. Pitman Funeral Homes, Inc. in Wentzville, MO, is assisting the family.

Mr. Adams was born Sept. 20, 1946, in Litchfield, to Andrew Fred and Sophie Katherine (Orblish) Adams. He married Linda, and she survives.

He was proud to have served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War, and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #3912 in Litchfield.

Mr. Adams was a faithful Christian man having accepted Christ and been baptized as a youth in Litchfield. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis in Lake St. Louis, MO, where he attended with his wife. He volunteered for his church at the Mary Martha Thrift Shop in Wentzville, MO, giving hours of his time to further advance his mission of providing to the less fortunate.

He loved his family deeply. In earlier years, he spent summer weekends with his grandchildren when possible at the Lake of Eygpt in southern Illinois, taking them fishing and boating.

Mr. Adams kept pace with current political issues being an avid watcher of Fox News. A staunch Republican, he was proud of his country and was a strong supporter of President Trump. 

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by his daughter, Sherri Lyn (fiance Brian Stevenson) Marshall of Gladstone; son, Roger Louis Bedwell; four sisters, Doris Fassero, Mary Everett, Frieda (Lloyd) Irvin and Patty (Robert) Zumwalt; two grandsons, Justin Allen Dickey of Indianapolis, IN, and Joshua Taylor Dickey of St. Peters, MO; and five granddaughters, Kelsi Amanda Bedwell of O'Fallon, MO, Briana Nicole Bedwell of Phoenix, AZ, Miranda Taylor (Duncan Gibbs) Bedwell of Goshen, KY, and Haley Marie Bedwell and Alyssa Grace Bedwell, both of Wentzville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Adams and Melvin Adams; and a sister, Nancy (Adams) Nimmons.
