John William Boston, 29, of Girard, died on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 1:53 p.m. at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Marty Nagel officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded by the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date.
Mr. Boston was born Sept. 8, 1988, in Springfield, to Jeffrey W. and Linda L. (Chesher) Boston of Farmersville.
He attended Farmersville Grade School and graduated from Lincolnwood High School in Raymond with the class of 2007. He was awarded "Outstanding Student" in Social Studies at his graduation ceremony.
Mr. Boston was employed by Apex International as a meter installer/technician, and calibrated and installed electric and gas meters.
He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals, and loved music, history and science. He was an avid reader who loved the book "The Hobbit."
Mr. Boston had many friends, and was a loving father and partner.
He is survived by his parents; a son, Owen Patrick Boston of Girard; companion, Michelle Kampmann of Girard; a sister, Kelley (Jonathan) Clausing of Springfield; and grandmother, Elizabeth "Babe" Meier of Greenville.
Mr. Boston was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret (Boyd) Micklus.
