Jonah Martin Niehaus, 21, of Mt. Olive and Hillsboro, died on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at 9:30 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

A private family service will be conducted Wednesday, April 29, with the Rev. Dr. Phillip Witcop officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. In honor of Mr. Niehaus, relatives and friends are asked to join the procession to the cemetery at approximately 10:30 a.m. at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Please remain in your vehicles. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date on the Niehaus farm.

Mr. Niehaus was born July 30, 1998, in Hillsboro, to Dana Lynn (Crouser) and Martin Arthur Niehaus.

He was a “Mr. Fix-it”, who enjoyed riding dirt bikes, but especially loved hanging out with his brother Noah and cousin Braden. He loved his dogs Milo and Jax, and was looking forward to becoming a father.

Mr. Niehaus graduated from Mt. Olive High School with the class of 2017 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield. He farmed his with dad and his brother.

He is survived by his parents; girlfriend, Tia Lyle of Hillsboro; three brothers, Noah Martin Niehaus of Litchfield, Jacob James Harbaugh of Carlinville and Adam Benjamin (Lindsey) Tarran of Greenville; one sister, Sara (Andrew) Bentley of Carlinville; and paternal grandmother, Orva Wilhelmina (Ernst) Niehaus of Mt. Olive.

Mr. Niehaus was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sherry Allen; and paternal grandfather, Arthur Jr. Niehaus.

Memorials may be directed to Cahokia Creek Hill Climbers or Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
