Joyce Ann Thacker, 74, of Sorento, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 10:10 p.m. at her residence.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 3, beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Loskot, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.
Mrs. Thacker was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Clinton, KY, to John and Juanita (Moser) Vance. She married David W. Thacker on Oct. 23, 1968, in Hillsboro, and he survives.
She grew up in New Douglas with her 11 siblings.
Mrs. Thacker was a homemaker, and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She loved the outdoors, spending much of her free time camping, fishing and riding motorcycles with her husband. She also loved animals and would never turn a stray cat away.
She was a talented painter, and painted many landscape scenes on old saw blades and barnwood.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thacker is survived by her sons, Rodney (April) Thacker of Chatham and Randy (Jennifer) Thacker of Sorento; grandchildren, Josh (Natalie) Thacker of Collinsville, Brayden and Dylan Thacker of Chatham, Shelby Thacker of Maryville, Blake Thacker of Raymond and Carly Thacker of Sorento; great-granddaughter, Lily Thacker; siblings, Barb May, Susie Vance, Dorothy Osborn, Diana Osborn, Clyde Osborn, Jr., Kenneth Osborn, Tina Osborn and Jimmy Osborn; stepfather, Clyde Osborn, Sr. of Staunton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Chuck Vance, John Vance and Billy Osborn.
