Julie Ann Jefferson, 64, of Hermitage, PA, formerly of Litchfield and Pekin, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, at 1:07 p.m. at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Gary Grogan officiating. Burial will be held in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. 

Ms. Jefferson was born July 22, 1955, in Pekin, to William E. and Evie S. (Gentry) Agee. She was adopted by Charles Richard “Dick” and Elaine June (Bacon) Jefferson. 

A woman of many talents and abilities, she earned her Masters of Divinity degree and was an ordained minister. She was an overseas missionary and gifted Bible teacher. She loved people and used her talents to express God’s love to them. 

From the bush of Africa, to the streets of China and India, she led many to the joy of salvation through Jesus Christ. She was a fabulous artist, who enjoyed painting, graphic design, glass blowing and illustrating books.

She is survived by her biological mother of Washington; two brothers, Kurt Jefferson of Lexington, KY, and Jerry (Linda) Agee of Pekin; two sisters, Patricia (Harry) Hammer and Peggy Dietz, both of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her biological father and one brother.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
