Junior Bartlett, 98, of Ramsey, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Heritage Health Care in Pana.

Visitation will be held from 10   to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 8, at Miller Funeral  Home in Ramsey. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m with Pastor Larry Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery.

Mr. Bartlett was born on Nov. 26, 1920, in Ramsey, to Jesse Verne and Mary Etta (Mitchell) Bartlett. He married Mildred Irene Hayes on January, 31, 1940, in Ramsey. Mr. Bartlett was a farmer and livestock operator in Ramsey for over 70 years. He served as Fayette County grain inspector, Ramsey Township auditor, and A.S.C.S. committeeman for Ramsey and Carson Township.

Mr. Bartlett lived an extremely active life. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who never met a stranger. Mr. Bartlett had vivid memories of farming during the great drought of 1954, with temperatures reaching 110 degrees and the hailstorm that took place that same year.

Mr. Bartlett is survived by two children, Dennis Bartlett and Beverly Bartlett, both of Ramsey; and a sister, Geraldine Horner of Murphysboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, James Bartlett; and two siblings, LaRue Bartlett and Betty Miller.
