Katherine “Katie” Miles, 79, of Pana, died on Monday morning, Oct. 26, 2020, at her residence with family by her side, following an extended illness.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, from 9 to 10 a.m. at United in Faith Church in Pana. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Burial will be held at Rosemond Grove Cemetery. Kennedy and Sons Funeral Home in Pana is assisting the family.
Mrs. Miles was born July 31, 1941, in Pana, and was raised as the daughter of Arthur and Alice Louise (Daniels) Pope. She married Ronald G. Miles on Dec. 24, 1958, in Pana, and he survives.
She attended Washington School and Pana High School, where she graduated with the class of 1960.
Mrs. Miles went on to own the Ceramic Arts store in downtown Pana for 21 years. She was a very proud and active member of United in Faith Church in Pana.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Ric (friend Brenda Durham) Miles, Ronna Miles and Paul (Marsha) Miles, all of Pana; grandchildren, Erika (Robert) Goebel of Morrisonville, Briar (Anna) Miles of Pana, Mackenzie (Alex) Hand of Nokomis, Elliot (Jessica) Tom of Bowling Green, KY, Christian (Myah) Miles of Taylorville and Willow Oreskovich of Pana; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Savannah Miles, both of Pana, Miles Goebel of Morrisonville, Wilson Hand of Nokomis, and Hunter and Jaxon Tom of Bowling Green, KY; several nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.
Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Barbara LeDuc and Marilyn Sylvester; and a granddaughter, Katlin “Charlee” Miles.
Memorials may be directed to Quad County Hospice or United in Faith Church in Pana.
