Kathy Dagon, 66, of Hillsboro died at 4:42 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Joy Caschetta, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Dagon was born in Hillsboro on June 4, 1948, the daughter of the late William and June (Hill) Dagon.

She lived in Hillsboro her entire life except while attending college. She was a school teacher for many years in the Hillsboro School District and also taught at Irving School.

Ms. Dagon was a 1966 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Greenville College in Greenville and her master's degree in education from Eastern Illinois University.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, Business and Professional Women's Club (later known as the Ladies Civic Club) and was very involved with Hillsboro's Old Settlers celebration for many years. She loved to travel and was a Disney World annual pass holder.

Ms. Dagon is survived by one brother, Mike (wife Myra Jean) Dagon of Butler; one sister, Mary Dagon of Belleville; two nephews, Patrick (wife Emily) Dagon and Kevin Dagon; and great-nephew, Nathaniel Dagon.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.
