Kay Arlene Augustyniak, 54, of Hillsboro, died on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at 12:52 p.m. at her residence.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 19, beginning at 1 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Gary Stanford, pastor of Taylor Springs Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. Those attending are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask.

Ms. Augustyniak was born June 14, 1965, in Hillsboro, to Norman and Doris (Campbell) Hamby. She married Vernon Thrasher, and they later divorced. She then married Dennis Mayer, and they later divorced.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1983. She was employed as a waitress at Huddle House and Denny’s in Litchfield, and also worked at Schutt Sports in Litchfield.

Ms. Augustyniak was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church. She loved throwing darts and collecting knick knacks. During her lifetime, she resided in Hillsboro, southern Illinois and Perryville, MO.

She is survived by her parents of Hillsboro; sons, Joshua (Morgan) Thrasher of Taylor Springs and Nathan Thrasher of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Skylynn, Leham and Chevy Thrasher and Hayden Parker; and two brothers, David Hamby and Michael (wife Dawn) Hamby, both of Hillsboro.
