Ken F. “Mac” McDonald, 81, of Litchfield, died on Monday, July 27, 2020, at 11:45 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Litchfield Family Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Mr. McDonald was born Aug. 31, 1938, in St. Louis, MO, to John and Corrine (Litteken) McDonald. He married Judith A. Aubuchon on Nov. 24, 1960, in St. Louis, MO, and she survives. They were preparing to celebrate 60 years of marriage this year.

He attended Normandy High School in St. Louis, MO, where he played basketball and golf and was awarded a scholarship to college to continue to play. He attended Oklahoma A&M, then transferred to Christian Brothers College in Memphis, TN, where he graduated with an accounting/business degree.

Mr. McDonald was a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge and was awarded Moose Member of the year. He was also a member of Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton.

He was an avid golfer who loved to play, watch, read and talk about the sport. He collected putters and had over 250 putters in his collection. He also loved to fish and to learn all about history.

Mr. McDonald was a great storyteller who was always one to tell a joke or two. He once told his family that he had no regrets, his life turned out just the way he wanted it. Everyone who met him loved him.  

Most of all, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. McDonald is survived by his sons, Bryan (Kelley) McDonald of Galveston, TX, and Daniel (Donna) McDonald of St. Louis, MO; daughters, Kelly (Doug) Taylor of Litchfield and Kara McDonald of Santa Fe, NM; six grandchildren, Tiffany and Casey McDonald, Annie and Lilly Taylor, and Harvest and Willow McDonald; brothers, Pat (Helen) McDonald and Mike (Barbara) McDonald, both of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Jean (Bob) Piant and Maureen McDonald, both of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Joyce Sanders and Barbara Gutman.
