Kenneth F. Nation, 86, of Taylorville, died Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 11:10 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 16, at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Burial was held in Morrisonville Cemetery with military graveside  honors.

Mr. Nation was born June 5, 1933, in Stonington, the son of Isaac and Cora (Ashenhurst) Nation. He married Juanita Fleigle, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy Fleigle on Jan. 17, 1953, and she survives.

In April 1953, he was drafted in to the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean Conflict as a mechanic. After he was discharged, he worked at Allis Chalmers for two years, and then started farming in the Morrisonville and surrounding areas.

He served on the Farm Bureau Board for 20 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and he loved the Lord. He was a hardworking, honest and loyal farmer who loved his profession, wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by his daughter, Karen (Bob) Herman of Morrisonville; son, Bruce (Lori) Nation of Taylorville; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roscoe Nation, Granvel Nation; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Joyce Nation; and ten siblings, Ira, Earl, Jack, Ivan, Ernest, Evert, Uldion, Florien, Robert and James.
