Kenneth Morland Broyles, 80, of Wilsonville, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at 6:43 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. Full military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by the Jerseyville American Legion Post #492. Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Broyles was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Winfield, MO, a son of Morland and Eveline (Eschbach) Broyles. He married the former Joyce Winslow on Sept. 1, 1962, in Carrollton, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2017.
A graduate of Brussels High School, he was a career veteran of the United States Military, having served for 25 years, retiring in 1990 as an E-8 Master Sergeant.
He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Gillespie.
Mr. Broyles is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Zane) Brown of Wilsonville; son, Christopher Broyles; grandchildren, Allyssa, Mya, Ian, Jase, Jonte and Danny; three brothers; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
