Chandlerville was the place to be for area several motocross racers on March 21, as the Midwest Motocross Club hosted the second event of the AMA District 17 schedule.
Trenton Kimbro of Taylor Springs was one of the big winners of the day, taking home two first place trophies in the 85cc Senior class and the Super Mini class while finishing second in the Schoolboy class.
Kimbro wasn’t the only winner on the day as Litchfield High School grad Anthony Krivi took first in the pro class. Ryan Petroski of Irving finished fifth in the 250 C Class, while Chris Furlow of Witt finished seventh in the Open C class, with Petroski finishing sixth. Ty White of Taylor Springs also competed in the C class and was third for much of the race before going down and finishing eighth overall.
Kimbro also raced in the qualifier for the Amateur National Motorcross Championship, which was held on March 27 at Lincoln Trail Motorsports in Casey. Racing in the 85cc (10-12) Limited class, Kimbro ran 30th in the first moto and 25th in the second for an overall finish off 27th in the 41-racer field. Corbin Durbin of Morrisonville also raced in the 85cc Limited class, placing 34th overall.
Racing continued at the qualifier the following day, with Litchfield’s Chris Short competing in the Vet (30+) Sportsman class. Short would finish 15th in the first moto and 14th in the second for a 14th place overall finish in the 29-rider field.
