Kristine Marie Hauter, 36, of Decatur, formerly of Litchfield, died on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, at 9:40 p.m. in her home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 11, beginning at 2 p.m. at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield with the Rev. Mike Rogers of Litchfield Southern Baptist Church officiating. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing rules will apply and masks will be required.
Ms. Hauter was born Feb. 14, 1984, in Springfield, to William “Bill” Traylor and Catherine “Susie” Hull-White. Over the years, her relationships included Nick Gerl and Keith Hauter, who she married and later divorced.
She attended Litchfield High School and received her GED later. She went on to Robert Morris College, receiving an associate’s degree in paralegal studies.
Ms. Hauter enjoyed interior decorating, shopping and following the latest clothing and fashion trends.
She is survived by her mother, Catherine “Susie” Hull-White of Litchfield; father, William “Bill” (Sue) Traylor of Greenville; stepfather, Daniel White of Litchfield; maternal grandparents, Larry (Shiryl) Cranford of Hamel and Ruby Cranford of Litchfield; paternal grandmother, Sharon Kuchar of Litchfield; steppaternal grandparents, Bill (Georgia) Hull of Litchfield; son, Clayton Hauter of Springfield; two daughters, McKenna Gerl of Litchfield and Hadley Hauter of Springfield; two brothers, Matthew Hull of Litchfield and Logan White of Bethalto; and three sisters, Heather (Brian) Honchak of Gloucester, VA, Lauren White of Litchfield and Lillian White of Litchfield.
Ms. Hauter was preceded in death by her stepfather, Matthew Allen Hull.
