Lady Lancers Earn Sweep At Red Tail Run In Decatur

The Lincolnwood girls golf team picked up two more wins on Tuesday, Sept. 10, with a sweep of Decatur Eisenhower and Pana at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.

The Lady Lancers put together a 215 for the match as they defeated Pana by 12 strokes and Eisenhower by 36.

Sydney Herman would lead the way for Lincolnwood, shooting a 14-over-par 50 to take medalist honors for the match. Herman's score would narrowly beat out the rounds put up by her teammate, Dorie Krager, who shot a 51, Pana's Kacey Swisher, who also had a 51, and Pana's Anna Beyers, who finished with a 52.

In addition to Herman and Krager, Stephanie Perun and Jordyn Gerlach also had scoring rounds for Lincolnwood. Perun finished with a 56, while Gerlach added a 58. Micah Gehlbach and Shelby Hattenbach would finish out the lineup, each shooting a 69.

Lincolnwood, who played in the MSM Conference Tournament on Sept. 11, at Edgewood Park Golf Course in Auburn, will travel to Shambolee Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 12, to take on PORTA. They'll continue a busy week on Friday at Hillsboro, followed by the Lady Viper Open at Terry Park Golf Course on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Lancers Hit The Links At Lincoln Greens

Just ten strokes separated Lincolnwood's six golfers on Tuesday, Sept. 10, as the Lancers picked up a victory over Rochester at Lincoln Greens Golf Course in Springfield.

The Rockets would have the medalist for the match, Ben Drendel with a 3-over-par 39, but Lincolnwood would hold the next five individual spots, starting with Sam Herman, who was a stroke behind Drendel with a 4-over 40.

Nate Brockmeyer and Michael Jones would chip in rounds of 43 and 44, while Braxton Schmedeke had the fourth scoring round with a 46.

Devin Brown just missed finishing in Lincolnwood's top six with a 47, while Will Jenkins finished with a solid 50.

The Lincolnwood JV team would also get some time on the course in Springfield and shot a 213.

Colton Tischkau and Michael Graham would lead the second string with scores of 51 and 52, while Drake Germann added a 54. Jacob Mizera would be two strokes behind his teammate with a 56 for the fourth scoring round, while George Schoenherr also played, shooting a 62.

The Lincolnwood boys will face Auburn  and North Mac in their next varsity match on Monday, Sept. 16, at Shoal Creek.
