The Lincolnwood girls golf team would take second in a four-team match on their home course on Thursday, Aug. 27, as they moved their record over .500 for the season.
Now 5-4 on the year, the Lady Lancers shot a 214 at the friendly confines of the Shoal Creek Golf Course in Raymond, beating out Taylorville by 11 strokes and North Mac by 25. Auburn would take first in the match with a 188, boosted by Ellie Knight’s medalist winning 39.
All four Lincolnwood scoring rounds would be in the top ten individually on Thursday, with Dorie Krager leading the way with a 48. Krager’s round would be fourth best on the day, behind Knight, Kristina Hemberger (46) and Shelby Seiler (47), all of Auburn.
After a rough start, Jordyn Gerlach played better down the stretch and added a 55 for the Lancers, matching teammate Shelby Hattenbach as the pair tied for seventh overall. Marisa Webb was right behind them in a tie for ninth, with a 56 on the day.
Micah Gehlbach would have a solid fifth score for the Lancers with a 57, while Jhia Walker (60) and Kaylee Gerlach (69) rounded out the LHS lineup.
The Lincolnwood girls will be back at home on Thursday, Sept. 3, when they host Carlinville, Carrollton and Shelbyville at Shoal Creek
