Lady Panthers Rebound Against Riverton

Posted

The Litchfield Lady Panthers took their 7-3 record on the road Monday night, April 15, to take on Riverton in a game that was moved to Taylorville because of field conditions.

The Panthers wasted no time in ending their two-game goalless streak. Jordan Morgan and Greta Fleming would set the tone two minutes in with Fleming getting her first of three goals and Morgan getting her first of five assists on the night.

Morgan would set up Fleming again with 17 minutes left in the first half and the Panthers wouldn’t look back.

Jordan Morgan would set up twin sister Devan Morgan 13 minutes in to the second half on a corner kick to put the Panthers up 3-1 and Devan Morgan would score again seven minutes later off a feed from Harley Traylor.

Fleming would finish off her hat trick and Karly Kruse would supply the nail in the coffin, both off Jordan Morgan assists, finishing off Riverton with a 6-2 victory.

Litchfield vs. Pana

The Panthers returned home Tuesday, April 16, to take on conference opponents Pana. Litchfield would be the better team for most of the game. Unfortunately for the Panthers they were without a couple of their offensive starters and could not find the back of the net despite a few glorious chances.

Pana took advantage and was able to sneak one past keeper Becky Painter and took home the 1-0 victory.

Litchfield will look to rebound on the road Thursday night, April 18, against rival Hillsboro.
